For peak weeks — Christmas–New Year's, spring break, Thanksgiving — the best villas book nine to twelve months ahead, and the marquee properties often rebook year over year. For high season generally (December through April), plan on four to six months. Shoulder months (May, June, October, November) are workable at two to four months, and summer inside hurricane season is the most flexible window.

What is the best month to visit Cabo?

For classic dry, warm weather: December through April, which is also whale season. For value with great weather: May, June, October, and November. July through September is hot and humid with hurricane risk — the quietest and cheapest window, but a gamble for a trip that can't move.

When is whale season in Cabo?

The best time to book a Cabo villa, month by month

"When should we go?" and "when should we book?" are different questions, and mixing them up is how groups end up with their third-choice villa. The first is about weather and season; the second is about inventory — and in Los Cabos, the villas worth flying for are scarce in a way hotel rooms never are. After six-plus years running villas on the ground through The Baja Concierge, here's the honest calendar.

The one rule that matters

Book the villa before the flights. A great week in Cabo can move by a few days to fit a great house; a great house cannot be conjured for the week your flights happen to land. For peak weeks, the marquee villas often rebook year over year — the families who had Christmas week take Christmas week again — so what's actually available nine months out is already a subset.
